Interventional Neurology is a medical specialization that involves performing diagnostic procedures  to obtain images of the brain's blood vessels . The specialty also involves performing interventions on various disorders that involve the brain's blood vessels.

The specialist trained in Interventional Neurology and/or Endovascular Neurosurgery performs a broad range of both diagnostic procedures and interventions such as diagnostic cervical, cerebral, and spinal angiography. Some of the interventional procedures include treating strokes, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, arteriovenous fistulas, carotid artery stenting, intracranial artery stenting, etc.

Continuing advances in the technology and understanding of the disease processes mean the range of conditions that can be treated by interventional neurology techniques is continuing to expand rapidly. We have included information on some of the more common procedures, while trying to answer some frequently asked questions for each of them.

This website aims to provide basic and quick information to Patients, Clinicians, other professionals and trainees about the field and the various procedures.
